Historic Advisory Committee

Meetings


The Historic Advisory Committee (HAC) meets the First Monday of every Month at Townhall located at 1715 Route 46, Ledgewood, NJ but always check the Township Calendar.  Our meetings are open to the public.

Purpose


According to the Revised General Ordinances of the Township of Roxbury, Chapter II (Administrative Code 2-6.10), “the historic advisory committee shall meet periodically and shall advise or consult with the council, planning board, and or zoning board, with respect to development and preservation of the historic areas of Roxbury Township in accordance with the provisions of Chapter XII Land Use of the Revised General Ordinance of the Township of Roxbury (1978).”

The HAC is charged with the duties of advising, guiding, and encouraging the town council, planning, zoning boards, and property owners in the preservation of historical areas and structures.

Activities


Once a year a number of properties are selected and sited by the HAC for the owners work done to preserve and maintain the properties historical value. The recipients receive a certificate in May that is presented to them by a HAC member at a Township Council meeting.
